Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion dates back to the 16th century and lies over the road from Chateau Haut-Brion, in the appellation of Pessac-Leognan, which lies just to the south of the city of Bordeaux on the left (west) bank of the Garonne River. The estate was acquired by Domaine Clarence Dillon (who'd owned Haut-Brion since 1935) in 1983 after which the estate underwent an enormous modernisation. These days Domaine Clarence Dillon is run by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, great-grandson of Clarence Dillon and while the estate was not included as a Premier Cru (First Growth) in the 1855 Classification of Bordeaux, it's considered by many to be the 'unofficial' sixth First Growth.

Chateau La Mission Haut Brion 2019 Composition

The 2019 Chateau La Mission Haut Brion is a blend of 53% merlot, 7% cabernet franc and 40% cabernet sauvignon and is 14.5% alcohol. This wine was purchased en-primeur and arrived in August 2022. Since then it has been stored in a temperature controlled cabinet.
