Details

The fruit for the No.12 is sourced from individually selected vines from the Zander and Bartholomaeus family vineyards in Flaxman Valley in High Eden, a premium sub-region of Eden Valley.

"Pale yellow colour, the aromas very young and fresh, yeasty, star jasmine, lavender, even frangipani, the palate very lean and tangy, crisp and tart with elevated acidity. It lacked line and flow at first. A steely wine with a very dry finish, it's a bit in its shell right now. A day later it was showing much better, intense kaffir lime leaf to the fore, and it could score higher in time, when it's settled properly. Not easy to assess at this stage, but it's already very impressive anyway."
95 points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review.

"A new wine to mark the excellent 2021 vintage, in which Eden Valley experienced the coolest average temperature since 2001-2002; the 2021 vintage is widely regarded as being one of the best Eden riesling vintages since then. Fruit is sourced from Flaxman Valley and the regional stamp of chalky, minerally precision is all over it. This is restrained to the max – fine, tense and layered with rivulets of flavour that spool out over the long finish. What a sensational wine – more savoury and salted than plush and plump. Like the Eden Valley itself, this has a superbly rocky countenance; it takes me there. Epic stuff."
95 points, Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion.
