Everything But The Kitchen Sink Mix
We all end up in here eventually. From our Work From Home Series of 6-packs, this is a great drink now mix of 2 whites, 2 rosés and 2 reds.
Medhurst Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2020
"Bright pale straw with green hues, extremely vibrant and brilliant in the glass. The nose shows hints of grapefruit and stone fruit, both rich and flavoursome yet subtle. No real oak influence, but plenty of mealy, flinty notes. The palate is poised and powerful, showing off a benchmark Yarra Valley vintage. Again oak in the background it simply helps usher the beautiful pure fruit to the back of an effortless long and fine palate. This wine will look terrific over the medium term." Winemaker's notes.
Bollini Pinot Grigio 2020
Terrific grigio from the north east of Italy. “Straw yellow in colour, clear-cut and delicate on the nose, with scents of acacia flowers, minerals and pear. The fresh natural acidity supports the wine.” Winemaker’s notes.
Chateau Riotor Rosé 2018
“Pale brilliant pink. Lively, mineral-accented orange zest, strawberry and floral scents show very good clarity and pick up a spicy nuance with aeration. Nicely concentrated yet lively on the palate, offering incisive red berry, blood orange and floral pastille flavors underscored by a dusty mineral quality. Shows sharp delineation and cut on the finish, which hangs on with strong tenacity.” 91 points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media, August 2019.
Spinifex Rose 2019
“It's true that this displays juicy fruit and an element of texture but it offers a lot more besides. It's spicy, slipped with pomegranate, pale salmon in colour, and carries highlights of orange peel and fennel. It works simply as a refreshing drink but those who stop to contemplate will be rewarded.” 94 points and Special Value Rating, Halliday Wine Companion.
Rive Droite Rive Gauche Cote du Rhone Rouge 2020
This is rosy red in the glass. On the nose, raspberry and cherry aromas meld with red rose and fennel. On the palate you’ll find ripe cherry notes tempered by liquorice, pepper and savoury sasparilla bitterness. Less fruit-forward than Aussie GSM and with nice clean acid balancing its juiciness, it’s more in the leaner Euro style. Fresh, simple and delicious.
Head Wines Head Red Shiraz 2018
“There's a lot happening here, all of it good. 80% is sourced from the Eden Valley, 20% the Barossa Valley, co-fermented on skins for 14 days, matured in French oak (10% new), the barrel size ranging from 225L to 2250L. There's a poultice of red and black fruits and ribbons of fine, ripe tannins. You can't deny a wine like this.” 96 points, James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion.
