Burgundy's white variety. Sourced from 2 parcels - one 80 years old from En Jorcul, just outside St Aubin, the other up the road, on top of the hill called En Vollon. 100% fermented in tank, no oak.
In the glass this is clear gold. On the nose it’s more fruity than floral, with pineapple, lemon, burnt sugar and nutty notes. On the palate butterscotch quickly morphs into crisp lemon and citrus pith, then rolls on to a deliciously dry, flinty finish. With refreshing crisp acid, this is a tasty and interesting savoury white.
This estate was founded by Guy Larue in 1946 in the hamlet of Gamay, Saint-Aubin. It sits on 15 hectares, just behind the famed Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet slope, where the soils are rich in limestone. Brothers Denis and Didier, along with Denis’ children Bruno and Vivien, work the land using age-old practises which respect the terroir and centre on the traditional winemaking processes of the region. Vines are sustainably farmed, guyot trained and grown on alluvial deposits, clay, and limestone and grapes are harvested and sorted by hand.
